Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is the most awaited film of 2013 .The name of the film comes from the last words spoken by Milkha Singh's father, which were to save his life during the riots of Partition of India. The story tells about his perseverance and courage as an athlete.

Farhan underwent extensive preparation for the film's Ladakh schedule .He went to a  training center in the suburbs, which specialises in training people to adapt themselves to harsh conditions. He trained there and religiously ran around 10-12 km every day. While in Ladakh, he would sprint for hours together in the backdrop of jawans coming out for a jog. He would tie a rope to his waist and do a high intensity tyre and rope workout and run for several hours . All the preparation showed when the first promo was launched in which the 39 year old actor managed to look like a lean and well  toned athlete in his 20's.

Sonam Kapoor has charged only Rs 11 for the films  and claims that she blindly trusts the film-maker.
On being asked about her reason behind signing the film for Rs 11, Sonam said, "They had a budget and they told me they can't give money and that's why I said give Rs 11 and I will do the film.

After watching the film Milkha Singh said  ,"Farhan Akhtar has done a brilliant job. He looked like my duplicate in the movie.  It was my son's decision to make the movie for Rs 1. However, I mentioned a clause in the agreement that 10-15 per cent of the profit which the movie makes will go to our trust which promotes athletes.

The music of the film is good. Hawan kund and Zinda have become popular among the young generation .

The film will get a very good opening and can easily collect 30-35 crores or more in it's opening weekend. The only drawback can be it's 3 hour plus duration .I hope the director has made an engrossing  film which makes the audience forget everything and just be a part of Milkha Singh's journey from being a refugee to a carefree young guy to a devoted athlete.

Rank- 2 out of the 40 films I have seen in 2013

  3. I was so eager to watch the movie that i caught up the late night preview show of 10.30pm which started at 11pm and by the time i was out of the theater it was almost 2.30am as the movie is 3 hours 10 minutes long, 30 minutes of interval and then mad rush to exit

I was not aware even 1% of what i got to see in this movie, so it was an eye opener of Milkha Singh struggles, his life , his love life and how he got the tag line Flying Sikh

The movie is way too long though, it goes into depth of his life, luckily it did not get into his marriage life and his kids as then the movie get over at 5am basis. The director dwells too much into each scene , each character but i guess he had so much material with him, that he considered it fair to give justice to his key periods of life

This is a first biopic made in India on an great Indian, if i am wrong i apologize , but if this movie is a success , i am sure a new trend will begin to make movie on great sportsmen or politicians ( very few politicians i guess ) just like it started with The Dirty Picture. Already it seems talk is on to make movie on life of Azhurudin by Ektaa Kapoor

The canvas is huge in the movie, the efforts to make you feel that period , the dress code , the language make you believe in the story

What makes you like this long movie is Farhan Akhtar , he has lived the role , you feel like you are watching in real time Milka Singh - Be it the body language, the looks , the efforts all make him real life Milka in Reel Life and many outstanding scenes given by him ! The most hilarious scene is in the Airplane and the slap scenes , simply awesome

Watch out for awesome performance from Divya Dutta , Prakash Raj & Pawan Malhotra , they simply take the movie to one level high

Had this movie been crisper and shorter by 30 minutes, it would help for commercial success to a higher level

I am sure no one will miss to see the movie , yes you need patience to see it as its a 4 hour process to do so, but do see it to know who is Milka Singh as it was in 1955-1960 phase of his glory which we are / were not aware of , so yes a must watch but its a long movie for sure

The background score is very weak , the songs are awesome except 1-2 super slow tracks and the epic song Havan Karenge Havan Karenge is just too awesome to see Farhan dance in such a relaxed manner

Not giving away the story or scenes , go experience it , worth a watch and you will feel a proud Indian and also may get inspired to achieve something in life

    Jai Ho
